CAMP (Y/N?): N MY ACTIVITIES: Hike NOTES: Very large and pretty campground Me and my two children drove to Skidaway as a daytrip while staying in Savannah for my youngest's birthday. This was a quick visit and short hike to an observation tower. The campground was huge. I like this campground better than Fort McAllister campground because it seemed more lush with trees and plants.

CAMP (Y/N?): Y (1 night, Cottage) MY ACTIVITIES: History Tour, Sunrise Birdwatching NOTES: Amazing activities; modern, large cottages; Super friendly staff So it is my child's birthday celebration trip to Savannah, is it fair to throw in a couple of nearby state parks for my quest just to check them off the list??? Let's agree it is. :)
The plan was to do the Night History Hike on Friday night, but the delay in departure made it seem iffy that we would arrive in time. Somehow - traffic gods made it possible that we arrived literally 10 mins before tour time! CAMP (Y/N?): Y (1 night, solo carcamp) MY ACTIVITIES: Hiking NOTES: Spacious, quiet campground; Relaxing & Open Spaces around lake for fishing, picnicking, play I have a love / hate with solitude. I LOVE being alone - my thoughts are free and the peace and quiet is so restoring. But... it gets lonely. I was having apprehension about being alone on this one night camping trip at James H. (Sloppy Joe) Floyd State Park.
